Biography

Fanny Brawne came to public notice through her close friendship with the poet John Keats, whose fervent letters to her reveal her sharp intelligence, her taste for art, and her own attempts at writing and fashion design while the two shared a lively circle in Hampstead.

After Keats death she married, devoted herself to her three children, and kept his memory alive by preserving their correspondence, ensuring that future readers could see the depth of their uncommon friendship.
