Biography
Fatma Aliye Topuz (1862-1936) was a pioneering Turkish writer and one of the earliest female novelists in Ottoman literature. Her literary career broke significant ground for women in Turkish intellectual and cultural life during the late 19th century.
As an accomplished author, Topuz's works contributed substantially to Turkish literature and helped establish a space for women's voices in the literary world. Her legacy as a trailblazer in Ottoman letters continues to be recognized, and she is commemorated at Feriköy Cemetery.
