Fekla Donetska

Biography

Fekla Donetska (1855–1889) was a Russian teacher whose career contributed to education in Kirov during the latter decades of the 19th century. She represented the growing class of educated women entering the teaching profession in imperial Russia.

Though her life was brief, ending at age 34, Donetska's work as an educator reflected the expanding opportunities for women in Russian society and the increasing importance placed on public education during this transformative era.
