Biography

Ferdinand Karl, Archduke of Austria-Este (1754–1806) was a member of the Habsburg dynasty who held the rank of Archduke. As part of the Austria-Este line, he participated in the aristocratic and political life of the late eighteenth century, a period marked by significant challenges to the old order.

Though his life was cut short in 1806, Ferdinand Karl represented the continuity of the Habsburg tradition. He was interred in the Imperial Crypt, honoring his position within the imperial family and his place in the history of the dynasty.
