Biography

Ferdinand Ploeger, born in 1915, was shaped by a deep sense of duty to his fellow citizens and the ideals of a free Netherlands. He chose to live with courage, refusing to be passive while injustice swelled around him.

Ploeger became a trusted member of the resistance, carrying messages, sheltering those in peril, and helping to undermine the occupier’s control. Arrested and executed in 1944, he now rests alongside other patriots at the Dutch Honorary Cemetery Bloemendaal, a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made for liberty.
