Biography

Born in 1872, Fernand Dacre rose through the ranks as a dedicated officer in the French Army, devoting himself to the training and welfare of the soldiers under his command even as the clouds of war gathered over Europe.

He gave his life in 1915 during the early battles that tested France’s resolve, and his memory rests among comrades in La Crouée National Cemetery, where his sense of duty continues to be honored.
