Biography

Fernando Errázuriz Aldunate played a central role in shaping the early republic as a seasoned politician and statesman. He devoted himself to creating a stable government, leading provisional administrations and helping craft the foundations that would guide Chile through its formative decades.

His thoughtful leadership and commitment to civic life earned him admiration, and his guiding presence is remembered at the Basilica de la Merced, where he was laid to rest after a lifetime of service to his country.
