Fidelia Bridges
1834–1923 (age 89)
Biography
Fidelia Bridges, born in 1834, became one of the finest watercolor artists of her time, training with the National Academy of Design and producing delicate depictions of birds, blossoms, and quiet, reflective landscapes. Her work was shown at leading exhibitions in the United States and Europe, and her refined hand captured the stillness of nature with gentle precision.
She inspired younger artists through teaching and by serving as a model of professional artistry while supporting artistic societies, and she now rests at Mountain View Cemetery, leaving behind images that invite continued awe at the natural world.
