Biography

Fletcher Webster devoted himself to public service in Washington, D.C., serving the republic during its most fraught decades and answering the call of duty with a thoughtful mind.

When the Civil War came, he took up arms and was mortally wounded at the Battle of Ball's Bluff, leaving loved ones to remember his courage while his remains rest in Winslow Cemetery.
