Biography
Frances Middleton was a colonial resident who lived during the height of British colonial presence in India. She was part of the expatriate community that established itself in Calcutta during the early decades of the 19th century.
Frances's life, though spanning only twenty-nine years, was lived within the structured society of colonial India. She was buried in South Park Street Cemetery, among other members of the colonial establishment who shaped this significant period of history.
