Biography

Frances Ogden, who entered the world in 1824, dedicated herself to the education of Woodland’s children, teaching lessons not only from textbooks but from the values of patience and perseverance. Her classroom was a place where laughter mingled with learning, and she ensured each pupil felt seen even when times were hard.

Beyond school hours she visited the sick, sewed clothing for growing families, and lifted the spirits of neighbors in need, leaving an enduring impression when she passed in 1870.
