Biography
Francis Peregrine Kinloch was born in 1748 and lived through the American Revolution and the early years of British colonial consolidation in India. His long life spanned a transformative era in world history, and he was among the earlier generations of British settlers who established the foundations of colonial Calcutta.
Kinloch died in 1806 at the age of fifty-eight, having witnessed the rise of British power in India. His burial at South Park Street Cemetery reflects his status as a member of the established colonial community and his contributions to the development of British society in the subcontinent.
