Francis W. Cushman

Biography

Francis W. Cushman, whose service in the U.S. House of Representatives from Washington state in the first decade of the 20th century gave voice to the region's needs, spent his career advocating for the development of ports, transportation, and fair commerce. He believed that thoughtful policy could lift the community that had welcomed him.

He is interred at Tacoma Cemetery, where his public spirit and thoughtful leadership are recalled by those who value the civic foundations he helped strengthen.
