Francisco de Asís, Duke of Cádiz, was a Spanish nobleman who served as consort to Queen Isabella II of Spain. Born in 1822, he played a significant role in the Spanish royal court during the nineteenth century, representing an important diplomatic and dynastic connection for the Spanish monarchy.
His life reflected the complexities of nineteenth-century European royal politics, navigating the responsibilities of his elevated position while witnessing Spain's political transformations. He was laid to rest in the Royal Crypt of the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, one of Spain's most prestigious burial sites reserved for members of the royal family.
