1919–2002 (age 83)
Biography
François Soubeyran was born in 1919 in Montjoux and found his voice as a tenor who could move audiences with its clarity and sincerity; he performed in theaters across France and participated in radio broadcasts that brought classical music to new listeners. His repertoire included sacred pieces and contemporary chansons, all delivered with a graceful humility.
He later taught young singers, sharing the disciplines of breath and expression with warmth, and he remained closely connected to the arts community until his death in 2002.
