Franklin Grube

Biography

Franklin Grube, born in 1831, became a steady presence in Jacksonville, known for his willingness to lend a hand and to take responsibility for civic needs. His thoughtful approach to challenges reflected the character of a generation rebuilding after turbulent times.

He died in 1869, leaving behind family and friends who remembered him for his steadying influence, and his spirit rests in Jacksonville Cemetery.
