Biography
Frans van Eijk (1918–1945) was a Dutch Engelandvaarder, one of the brave individuals who escaped occupied Netherlands to continue the fight for freedom. These courageous men risked perilous journeys across the North Sea to reach Britain and join Allied forces in their struggle against Nazi tyranny.
Van Eijk's commitment to the cause of Dutch liberation cost him his life in 1945, just as the war in Europe was drawing to a close. He was laid to rest at IJsselhof Crematorium and Cemetery, remembered as a hero who chose exile and danger to fight for his nation's freedom.
