Biography
František Jandera was born in 1873 and lived through the transformation of Europe from the Austro-Hungarian Empire through two world wars. His long life witnessed the rise and fall of empires and the emergence of modern nationalism in Central Europe.
Jandera died in 1945 at the advanced age of 72, having survived to see the end of World War II. He was buried in the National Cemetery in Terezín, a final resting place that honors those from his generation who endured the turbulent twentieth century.
