František Vestfál
1906–1945 (age 39)
Biography
František Vestfál came into the world in 1906, building his days as a citizen of a young republic and sharing in the joys and challenges of family, work, and neighborhood life as tensions in Europe grew. He maintained a steady presence as his community navigated the uncertain years before the war.
In 1945 his life ended, and he now rests at the National Cemetery in Terezín, where the graves mark the lives of so many who were uprooted and imprisoned. His name on a plaque there ensures that future generations remember both the person he was and the terrible forces that claimed him.
