Biography
Franz Bauer, born in Vienna, came to England and became the botanical illustrator whose precision and artistry brought the riches of Kew Gardens to life for admirers at home and abroad.
He taught, guided younger artists, and left a legacy of delicate watercolours before being laid to rest at St Anne's Church, Kew.
