Franz Georg von Oettingen (1757–1832) was a Baltic German nobleman whose life bridged the 18th and 19th centuries. Born during the Enlightenment, he lived through an era of profound intellectual and political change, maintaining his aristocratic status and influence throughout the transformative decades that followed the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars.

Von Oettingen's position within the Baltic German nobility reflected the enduring power of the landowning elite in Estonia. His burial at Halliste cemetery in southern Estonia marks his connection to the region's rural aristocratic landscape.
