Biography
Fred Korematsu was a courageous civil rights activist who challenged the constitutionality of Executive Order 9066, which authorized the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. His case, Korematsu v. United States, reached the Supreme Court and became a landmark decision in American legal history. Though the Court initially ruled against him, Korematsu's brave stand against government injustice became a defining moment in the fight for equal protection under the law and remains a powerful symbol of resistance to discriminatory policies.
