Biography
Fred Schulte (1901-1983) played major league baseball as a reliable outfielder whose steady defense and timely hitting helped the St. Louis Browns and other clubs through the 1920s and 30s, earning admiration from teammates and fans alike.
After hanging up his glove, he remained a beloved mentor to young players, sharing the lessons of sportsmanship and perseverance that accompanied his own career, and he is remembered fondly in Belvidere Cemetery where he was laid to rest.
