Biography

Frederick Ringer (1838–1907) began life in Norwich but soon became known for his work as a merchant whose networks spanned the British Isles and the Far East, developing ports and firms that carried the region's produce to global markets.

Throughout his career Ringer never forgot his roots in Norwich, giving generously to civic projects there while ensuring his family and business remained connected to the city; his grave in Rosary Cemetery is a quiet reminder of that lasting bond.
