Biography
Frederick William Hedges (1896–1954) served as a junior officer in the closing months of the Great War and was awarded the Victoria Cross for personally leading men across devastated ground to silence enemy positions.
After the war he maintained a quiet life but always honoured the comradeship of his regiment, offering support to fellow veterans and keeping alive the memory of those who fell.
