Biography

Frederik Nieuwenhuijsen was a Dutch resistance fighter who actively opposed Nazi occupation throughout World War II. Working within the underground networks that formed across the Netherlands, he contributed to efforts aimed at undermining German control and aiding those in need during the occupation.

Nieuwenhuijsen's resistance work ultimately cost him his life in 1945. His death marked the end of a courageous struggle for Dutch independence and freedom from Nazi tyranny. He is remembered at the Dutch Honorary Cemetery in Bloemendaal as one of many who gave their lives for liberation.
