Biography
Friedrich Prazak was born in 1874 and lived through the transformation of Central Europe from the Austro-Hungarian Empire through the establishment of Czechoslovakia and into the Second World War. His long life provided perspective on the region's dramatic historical changes.
Prazak's final resting place in the National Cemetery in Terezín reflects the historical significance of that location. He lived through nearly seven decades of profound change and was laid to rest in a cemetery that itself became a symbol of the region's tragic twentieth-century history.
