Friedrich Sigismund Stern, born 1812, devoted himself to painting, capturing the light and spirit of his surroundings through careful observation and a reverence for detail.
Over the decades he supported the arts through both practice and mentorship, and when he died in 1889 his works guided admirers to remember him at Kudjape Cemetery.
