Biography
Gatewood Lincoln entered the Naval Academy and went on to serve as governor of American Samoa during two tours, guiding the territory through a period of modernization while respecting Samoan traditions and the welfare of the people under his charge.
After returning from the Pacific, he continued to counsel naval officers and retirees, sharing the wisdom of a long seagoing career and the responsibilities of leadership.
