Biography
Georg Wilhelm Amatus Lüer (1802–1883) was a German instrument maker whose technical expertise and innovation shaped the development of precision instruments in the nineteenth century. His work reflected the high standards of German craftsmanship and scientific instrumentation.
Lüer's career spanned eight decades of industrial and scientific progress, during which his instruments contributed to advances in medicine, science, and industry. He spent his later years in Paris, where he was eventually buried in the renowned Père Lachaise Cemetery.
