Biography

George Andrew Hobson employed his civil engineering gifts to help shape vital infrastructure, lending clear-headed attention to the design and oversight of bridges and railways that connected communities across the country. Colleagues remembered him for his meticulous planning, calm leadership, and willingness to mentor younger engineers entering the profession.

He treasured the respect of those who worked beside him, and when he passed in 1917 his final rest at Richmond Cemetery offered a place where friends and family could honour a life devoted to building with both imagination and integrity.
