Biography

George Baird Hodge, a lawyer by training, served as a brigadier general in the Confederate service, leading Kentucky troops and grappling with the harsh realities of civil war.

After the war he returned to civilian life as an attorney and jurist, and in his final chapter he made his home in Colorado, where he worked to reconcile former adversaries and support the emerging frontier community with his legal guidance.
