Biography
George Cattermole painted romantic watercolours of medieval architecture, interiors and storytelling scenes that captivated visitors to the Royal Academy and illustrated the novels of his contemporaries.
He also contributed widely admired drawings to publications and maintained a gracious spirit toward younger artists, memories of which rest with him at West Norwood Cemetery.
