George Clinton was a central figure in New York's emergence, serving as a guiding political leader through the Revolutionary era and the early republic, including long service as governor and later as the nation’s vice president.
His steadfast defense of liberty and farsighted stewardship of the state earned him deep respect, and his name remains etched among the founders interred at Old Dutch Churchyard.
