Biography
George Findlater (1872–1942) carried the pipes of his Highland regiment with a courage that inspired comrades when the clangour of battle rose around them, famously continuing to play at Dargai even after grievous injury.
After his service he shared the stirring airs of the Highlands with audiences across Britain while remaining a symbol of determined spirit, and his grave in Forglen Graveyard draws those who value both his music and his example.
