Biography

George Gilbert Hoskins, born 1824, devoted his talents to the law and to public service, rising from local practice to hold positions of responsibility in government. Known for measured judgment, he helped guide his fellow citizens through the challenges of Reconstruction and the Gilded Age.

After nearly seventy years of life and decades of leadership he was laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery, leaving behind a reputation for integrity and calm stewardship.
