George Gurdjieff was a Russian-born screenwriter and spiritual teacher born in 1866 who profoundly influenced twentieth-century thought and culture. Gurdjieff's influence extended throughout his long life until his death in 1949. He was laid to rest in Avon Cemetery, remembered as a visionary whose ideas on consciousness, spirituality, and human development continue to resonate with scholars and seekers.
