George Huntington Williams

Biography

George Huntington Williams (1856–1894) was a careful geologist who paid close attention to the subtle stories written in the layers beneath our feet. His studies reflected a respect for the natural world and a desire to deepen public appreciation for the earth sciences.

Though his time was brief, those who knew him recall a steady scholar whose quiet dedication enriched the communities where he worked and whose memory is honored at Forest Hill Cemetery.
