George Loyd

Biography

George Loyd (1843-1892) spent his adult years in the shadow of Fort Riley, carrying the quiet resolve of a citizen who supported the soldiers and families who passed through the post.

He is interred at Fort Riley Post Cemetery, where visitors still appreciate the calm courtesy he offered to frontier life.
