George Mathew Fortescue

Biography

George Mathew Fortescue (1791–1877) was a politician whose career extended across the greater part of the nineteenth century. His long life allowed him to witness and participate in the great political movements and reforms that shaped modern Britain.

Fortescue was interred at Boconnoc Church, a place of honor befitting his service to his constituents and country. His tenure in Parliament represents an important chapter in the political history of his era and the continuity of parliamentary tradition.
