Biography

George McDuffie distinguished himself as a South Carolina governor and U.S. senator, defending the interests of his state while also promoting agricultural science and fiscal restraint.

After retiring from public office he devoted himself to mentoring younger statesmen, and Singleton's Graveyard became his final resting place.
