Biography

George Moffett Harrison, born in 1847, devoted his life to the law and was appointed to the Supreme Court of Appeals of Virginia, where his measured opinions tempered the court’s deliberations.

His colleagues admired not only his intellect but also his graciousness in mentoring younger jurists, and the memories of his integrity and courtesy are preserved at Thornrose Cemetery.
