George R. Malby

Biography

George R. Malby, born in 1857, rose through the ranks of public service in New York and then served in the United States House of Representatives. He brought to Congress a sharp mind, steady integrity, and a deep concern for the trade, navigation, and education systems that sustained his district.

When not in Washington he remained close to Ogdensburg, lending leadership to the schools and civic clubs that shaped the next generation. His warm counsel and unwavering patriotism are remembered fondly by the community he served and by those who visit his grave.
