George Redfield

Biography

George Redfield was a resident of the region whose life spanned the mid-eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Born in 1725, he lived through the Revolutionary War and the establishment of the new American nation, experiencing firsthand the transformation of the colonies into a republic.

Redfield's life of 87 years connected him to multiple generations of his community. He passed away in 1812 and was laid to rest in the Old Southwest Cemetery, where his memory is preserved among those of his neighbors and contemporaries.
