Biography
George Rex Graham made his mark on Philadelphia by founding Graham’s Magazine in 1840, providing a new outlet for American fiction, poetry, and criticism while elevating the work of writers such as Edgar Allan Poe and other emerging talents.
Through his editorial care and civic support he nurtured a broader literary culture that shaped readers for decades, and the city now remembers him at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
