Biography

George T. Sakato joined the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and earned the Medal of Honor for extraordinary heroism near Biffontaine, France, in 1944, a testament to the courage he displayed amid the challenges faced by Japanese American soldiers.

He devoted his later years to veterans' advocacy and educating others about the sacrifices of the Nisei generation, ensuring that his story of resilience remains part of the legacy preserved at Fairmount Cemetery.
