Gerhard Philipp Scholvin

Biography

Gerhard Philipp Scholvin was a German writer born in 1723 who contributed to the intellectual life of his time. His long career extended through much of the 18th century, a period of significant literary and philosophical development in German-speaking lands.

Scholvin lived to the age of eighty, passing away in 1803 and witnessing the transition from the Enlightenment into the modern era. He was interred in Engesohde city cemetery, a final resting place that reflected his standing in his community.
