Gilbert Jarvela (1919–2011) lived with a deep respect for hard work and the simple pleasures of life, sharing stories and laughter that brightened every gathering.
He is fondly remembered by community members who still draw strength from his example, and his remains lie in Tahoma National Cemetery.
