Biography

Born into the venerable houses of Stadion-Warthausen and Thannhausen, Countess Gisela carried the responsibilities of aristocratic life with quiet generosity, patronising charitable undertakings and fostering cultural gatherings that kept the salons of Vienna attuned to humane causes.

She lived her later years in Hietzing among neighbors who remembered her gentle stewardship, and she was laid to rest among the dignified graves of Hietzing Cemetery, where her family name endures with respect.
