Goyn Talmage, born in 1778, tended to the land and to those around him in Old Somerville, keeping the rhythms of the town alive through hard work on farm and in town meeting halls. He cherished civic responsibility and was known for lending a hand in times of need.
His quiet strength and everyday sacrifices are remembered by generations who gather at Old Somerville Cemetery, where he was laid to rest among neighbors he served with fidelity.
